BizzCraft Reset 2025

What’s changing and when?

The map will be reset and reopened on: Wednesday, June 25, 2025

Overview

• Ranks
  • Time progression will transition into a Vote-Based progression
  • 5 Donor Ranks (Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Netherite, Elite) will be restructured into 3 Donor Ranks: Royal ($10 USD), Immortal ($25 USD), Celestial ($50 USD)
  • 4 ranks available for in game purchase — see Ranks (Detailed)
• Economy
  • Mobs and certain blocks will drop money
    • Ores and plants have a 100% chance of dropping $1-3
    • Hostile mobs have a 25% chance to drop between between $0-2
    • Passive mobs have a 50% chance to drop between $1-3 dollars
      • The use of mob grinders is still permitted; however, the more you kill a given mob in a short period of time, you will get progressively less money.
  • Custom Achievements return with monetary rewards.
  • Admin shop has been trimmed, and several farmable items are no longer sellable.
• Content Creators
  • Creator rank will replace Media Rank
• Discord Integration
  • Server Chat will have a distinct channel on discord where you can communicate with online players while you’re offline, and vise-versa.
• Crossplay
  • This won’t impact most of you, but we will be implementing GeyserMC, which is a plugin that allows for Bedrock Edition users to play on Java Edition servers.
  • This will be available at or soon after the reset.
• Events
  • Events will be hosted by a Moderator, following a more consistent schedule (depending on Staff Availability).
• Voting
  • The Timed Ranks will be retired and reset, to be replaced with Vote Based Ranks
  • Vote Parties will occur upon a total of 50 votes
• Staff Structure
  • The Senior-Moderator rank will be retired.
  • Moderator will have an increase in permissions/abilities and responsibilities
  • Staff Application has been streamlined for ease of applicants
  • Operator Rank is equivalent to Admin, however Operators do more backend server management such as plugin/database management, finances, and feature management, whereas Admin more closely monitors the community, staff team, and overall online server management.
• Crates
  • Diamond, Emerald and Vote will be replaced with a Donor exclusive crate and an ever changing Crate as a reward for voting.
• Gameplay
  • Towny is a feature meant to bring back a sense of community, and healthy competition into the server.

• Quests have been teased for a long (long) time. Never quite finding the right way to set them up.

BizzCraft Re-Opening Announcement

What: BizzCraft’s reopening!

When: Friday, the 7th of June 2024

Here are the BC re-opening details you’ve been waiting for! (Short summary at the end for those with short attention spans).

1. Ranks - when you join the server, you will have the same rank you had before. There will be no changes to people’s ranks, nor to the commands each rank has access to. So if you had Emerald rank and enjoyed /top way back when, you will still have that now.
2. Time - similar to ranks, your playtime will not be changed and will still reflect your total time played on BizzCraft since we started timed ranks in late 2015.
3. Banned players - our ban database remains unchanged. Therefore, if you were banned from BizzCraft in prior years, you will still be banned from the server when it reopens. If you wish to appeal, you can do so in the #ban-appeals Discord channel.
4. Minecraft version - we will be running 1.20.6
5. Website - some of you may be aware that Enjin closed down last year, essentially erasing the BizzCraft website. Right now there are no plans to revive the website, aside from a simple donation store, as we believe most people tend to use Discord anyway. We will work to enhance the new website as funding allows.
6. Staff - at this time, we are running a very lean staff team mostly comprised of the admins from before, who are working on setting up the server again. Depending on player activity, we will adjust the staffing levels as needed. We have an application form open for applications here.
7. Media - We all know that in order for any community to thrive (or survive), we need a consistent influx of new players who ideally go on to become new active members. We believe this was perhaps one of the bigger mistakes made previously. As such, we've elected to create a new rank: Media. This rank will serve as a rank for Twitch Streamers, YouTubers, and any other members who have an online presence. We have an application form open for applications here.
8. Plugins - you can expect much of the same experience BizzCraft offered before in terms of commands or features. There may be a few changes due to plugins getting too old, but we are doing our best to create the experience you’re all familiar with. There are a number of possible new features in the works, however player experience/response is our top priority. (So think: griefprevention, togglechop, horses tp with you, chest shops, auctions, etc.)
9. Rules - most of BizzCraft’s rules will remain the same. This includes things like no scamming, no griefing, no inappropriate content, respecting all players, etc. The one major change will be how profanity is handled. We will be adopting a more relaxed policy on profanity.
10. How long will the server be online - we initially intended a reopening to be temporary, perhaps a month, or even the whole summer, to allow players to have a sort of online “reunion”. However, it is clear to us that there is some interest in the server continuing longer than that. Given that setting up the server takes a lot of time, and each Admin leads a very busy academic life, re-opening the server for 1 or 2 months each year is not really feasible. We will see how things go after the opening, but our intention will be to keep the server open if funding allows. We are operating at a lower cost basis than before, which should help.
11. Donations - on the subject of keeping the server up, donations are critical! Our new donation store is now up and running. As a “thank you” to those willing to make a donation before the server officially opens, items will be discounted by 50%. This sale will end once the server opens on the 10th of May, at which time, you can expect a 30% discount in celebration of the revival of BizzCraft!

We were surprised but happy to see so much interest in BizzCraft on the Discord in recent months. Clearly, many people still look back fondly on the server. We’re thrilled to be able to bring that experience back for you all!
